YOUR INFORMATION
We only use what we need to serve you.
Lightspeed Technology Group Limited is responsible for the personal information it holds. This policy applies to customers, prospective customers and people who use our website.
What we collect
We may collect your name, contact details, service and installation address, account and billing information, service enquiries, support history, network and device information, telecommunications subscriber and traffic information, and records needed to supply or support a service. If you apply as a vulnerable consumer, we may also receive sensitive information supporting that application.
How we collect and use it
We collect information directly from you, from your use of our services, and from suppliers involved in checking availability or delivering a service. We use it to assess coverage, process enquiries and orders, supply and bill for services, support customers, protect our systems, meet legal duties and communicate about your account. We do not sell personal information.
Website and service providers
Our website uses Cloudflare for hosting, security checks and analytics. Address features use Google Maps and Places, Chorus availability information and OpenStreetMap. Enquiries are processed through our email and service-management providers. These providers receive only information needed to perform those functions and may process information outside New Zealand under their own safeguards.
Sharing information
We may share relevant information with network, installation, billing, email, service-management, security and professional-service providers; with a person you authorise; or where disclosure is permitted or required by law. Telecommunications information is also handled under the Telecommunications Information Privacy Code 2020.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards and limit access to people who need the information for their work. We retain information only while it is needed for the purpose collected or to meet legal, tax, contractual and regulatory obligations, then securely delete or anonymise it. Vulnerable-customer evidence is restricted because it may contain sensitive health, safety or disability information.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of your personal information. Contact our Privacy Officer at connect@lightspeed.net.nz or call 03 441 2314. We may need to confirm your identity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Privacy breaches
We investigate suspected privacy incidents promptly. Where a breach has caused or may cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as required by the Privacy Act 2020.
