It grew out of a local technology business that had been supporting homes and businesses throughout the Queenstown Lakes district for decades. As technology became more important, one challenge kept appearing: reliable internet access wasn't keeping pace with the region's needs.

So we built a network.

What started as a way to solve local connectivity challenges evolved into Lightspeed — a locally owned technology and connectivity provider serving homes, businesses, events, and productions throughout the Queenstown Lakes district.

Today, we own and operate network infrastructure throughout the region, delivering internet services to homes, businesses, rural properties, apartments, accommodation providers, events, and production companies. Because we're local, we understand the unique challenges that come with providing connectivity in one of New Zealand's most geographically diverse regions.

We're local, independent, and invested in this region. Over the years, we've built an extensive wireless network across the Queenstown Lakes district while delivering fibre services to homes and businesses throughout the area. Whatever technology sits behind your connection, you'll always have a local team standing behind the service.

More Than Internet

While broadband is at the heart of what we do, Lightspeed has always been about helping people connect. Our team designs and installs fibre and wireless connections, builds WiFi networks, provides structured cabling, supports business infrastructure, and delivers specialist connectivity solutions for events, broadcasting, and film production.

Whether it's a family home, a growing business, a remote rural property, or a major international production, our approach remains the same: deliver reliable connectivity backed by knowledgeable local support.

Why Customers Choose Lightspeed

Local Expertise

Our team lives and works in the communities we serve. We understand the region, the terrain, and the challenges that come with keeping people connected.

End-to-End Ownership

From network infrastructure through to in-home and business WiFi, we take responsibility for the entire connection experience.

Real Support

When you contact us, you're speaking with local people who know the network and have the ability to help.

Built for Queenstown Lakes

From remote rural locations and alpine environments to high-density accommodation and international events, our network has been built to meet the demands of this region.

Looking Forward

Technology never stands still, and neither do we. We're continually investing in our network, infrastructure, and people to ensure our customers have access to reliable, high-performance connectivity today and well into the future.

Because great internet isn't just about speed — it's about having a local team you can rely on when it matters.
